Ironing Out The Myths Of Wrinkle Injections

Are you worried about wrinkles, fine lines and creases appearing underneath your eyes or on your face?

Have you considered Botox?
We’re sure many of you have considered it but have been scared off by some horror stories stemming from the work of unqualified practitioners and ill practice. But while there may be many individuals who believe these tales, if your research is done accurately and you make the right choices, you will avoid any unnecessary and unnatural risks.

With technology behind medically performed cosmetic procedures in a constant state of evolution with new practices, equipment and treatments becoming available, you are given a wide range of options which sometimes make it difficult for you to pursue one particular path.

But before you rule out wrinkle injections completely why not read common myths that we’ve dispelled – you’ve probably heard some of them:

Myth #1 – Anti-wrinkle injections are poisonous

Quite possibly one of the biggest myths surrounding Botox and wrinkle injections because large amounts of Clostridium Botulinum can cause Botulism, however the Botox used is a purified protein derivative of the toxin and is in fact a natural product which blocks the communication between a nerve and a muscle.

With more than 20 years of use for a variety of conditions, the use of Botox is firmly established in medicine with no long term effects having been proven.

Myth #2 - The injections can be administered by anyone

This myth is often the source of all other myths surrounding wrinkle injections and can lead to the very unpleasant results. The specialist procedure is an extremely technique sensitive treatment which should only be given by a qualified medical professional in a sterilised and sanitised environment.

While it is considered a non-cosmetic procedure it does require knowledge of particular muscles in order for the treatment to be effective and work. At Luxe Private Clinic, we employ only highly qualified clinicians and doctors to administer these treatments.

Myth #3 – Botox is painful

A person’s pain threshold is entirely subjective to the individual; however with all wrinkle injections we administer all clients report a low level of discomfort, if any with many reporting that their experience was much easier than they anticipated.

Our treatments are administered using tiny needles which, especially for those with fear of needles are extremely effective for minimal pain with sensations compared to a small pinprick being felt.

Myth #4 – Results produce a frozen appearance

Inconsistent and uneven results are often the result of poor administration of the treatment or when a client has asked for more Botox than required and a doctor has agreed.

Doctors and clinicians who work in aesthetics still have a duty to exercise judgement and can refuse an excessive request. This is why before we begin any procedure, all of our clients undergo, with a comprehensive consultation which will ensure that the full procedure is outlined beforehand and levels of solution are determined to ensure both parties are happy.

Myth #5 – Swelling, redness and bruising make skin appear worse than before treatment

Each patient reacts to Botox differently, however to dispel this myth in all the procedures our qualified doctors have performed, side effects and symptoms of swelling or redness are extremely mild and only temporary.

While it can take several injections to treat most areas, it is likely, that area will look slightly pink or swollen for between 15 and 20 minutes after treatment. As the needle we use is very tiny it is unlikely bruising will occur, however in some case it can, particularly around the eye area.

Placed in the hands of our qualified cosmetic doctor at Luxe Private Clinic, wrinkle injections can produce sensational results. We will work with you throughout to understand the look that you want and discuss with you all aspects of the treatment to ensure maximum comfort and happiness.

Contact our cosmetic clinic in Nottingham today to book your consultation; we have successful clients who come for botox treatments Nottingham and from all over the UK including Leicester and Derby.
